Day 1 IB Theater

1. Think about a memorable performance that you participated in - describe it. (1 para)
    - A memorable performance that I was in was at the dress rehearsal for Les Miserables, my freshman year. It was the first show I had done in almost two years and I was totally out of practice. On that first run through with an audience I sat back stage waiting for my entrance completely nervous. I am the type of person to avoid addressing nerves and I pushed it off until the day of the performance. It was a mess. I had the shakes all over and I couldn't keep my voice steady. As I walked across the bridge I could feel myself freezing up a bit and starting to back out of the vocals. I even choked and swallowed a couple of my words. It was so awful but I kept going. Up and over the bridge, down the stairs, around and down front center stage. The spotlight glaring back at me right in my eyes. I felt judgement from everyone around me but really I had just made it all up in my head. As I finished up my little song clip I grinned and walked over to my friend stage right. She looked up at me and I could see in her eyes that she was proud of me. Even though it felt like a total train wreck to me, looking back I don't think it actually went as bad as I remember it.

2. Think about a memorable performance that you have seen - describe it (1 para)
    - One memorable performance that I saw was Once on this Island. We had just come from seeing another show and I had never heard of this one. We walked into the theater and I was immediately entranced with everything around me. It was a circular stage with seats all around it and doors behind seats on every side. We sat down all giddy and curious about what journey we were about to embark on when, a bunch of cast members slowly started to spill out on all sides of the stage. They came up to us and were talking and it set this whole emotional feeling to start the show. The show then continued on to be absolutely incredible and one of my favorites of all time.

3. Post a photo/image related to theater
